About the artist

Mathilde Olsen

Finding and drawing a good motive feels like falling in love. I just can't stop thinking about it.

Mathilde Olsen

Mathilde Olsen is a Danish illustrator, designer and architecture student. She draws inspiration from simplicity: the ability to create new images, motifs, characters and creatures using just a pencil and paper. She augments her line drawings with watercolours and fineliners, and takes special pleasure from drawing female faces – lips, eyes and jawlines are personal favourites – and animals, particularly birds. She lives and works in Copenhagen.
