“As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams he found himself transformed in his bed into a gigantic insect...” The Tunisian-French artist Taher Mhamdi manufactures digital and analogue collages from snippets of fashion photography, symbols, nature drawings and magazines to build surreal images of humans and animals, with particular emphasis of insects – photos that could have sprung from the pages of a Kafka novel.
